A New Expression of Design: Lotus x Kojey Radical, Driven by Culture

Today, Wednesday, 13th May, Lotus reveals their unique collaboration with the East London multi-hyphenate artist and rapper Kojey Radical whose influence spans music, fashion, design, illustration and performance. Kojey’s work consistently shapes the creative landscape around him, setting new directions rather than following existing ones. Kojey sits at the heart of the creative process, not as a contributor but as the cultural force shaping its direction, identifying as a strong Driver of Culture.

Recognised as one of the most distinctive voices in modern British art, Kojey Radical steps into the role of Creative Director for the collaboration. His sketches, movement, voice and lived experience form the foundation of a design story crafted through the Lotus Emeya, a canvas through which Kojey explores the emotional and artistic themes that have shaped key moments in his life.

The creative direction draws on the tensions explored in Don’t Look Down: the climb, the fear of falling, the pressure of visibility, the transformation into fatherhood and the weight of success. These themes are translated into line, texture and light, creating a visual language that reflects the internal dialogue of an artist navigating ambition, vulnerability and evolution.

A key influence within the collaboration is the Lotus archive, particularly the iconic Lotus Esprit. Kojey’s inspiration came from the Esprit’s ventilation lines and the rhythm of its parallel structures. Rather than recreating the vents physically, they are reinterpreted as light – a beam of colour that travels across the Emeya, echoing the air travelling across the Esprit’s bodywork. It represents a quiet yet powerful nod to Lotus heritage, illustrating how purpose can be poetic and how light can become structural.

Kojey Radical said:
“The Emeya already feels like a statement before you even drive it. Working with Lotus was a dream come true, and I was extremely grateful that Lotus gave me the space to translate my ideas visually in a way that felt honest to both the car and my own creative language. A lot of the concept grew from that tension between restraint and confidence — something that felt refined but impossible to ignore. I wanted the concept to feel expressive, intentional and human, while still reflecting the craftsmanship and presence of the car itself.”

Ben Payne, Vice President of Design, Group Lotus said:
“Kojey brings a rare creative clarity – an ability to translate emotion into form with precision and intent. This collaboration reflects what modern British creativity looks like: fearless, expressive and deeply rooted in identity.”

Beyond his multi-talented skillset, it is the intentionality behind everything he creates that sets Kojey apart. Whether designing, performing or storytelling, he brings a level of emotional intelligence and cultural fluency that resonates far beyond any single medium. The result is a moment where British craft meets contemporary creativity — where the car becomes a vessel for artistic expression, and where Kojey Radical’s voice, heritage and vision move into their next evolution.

Following an exclusive private launch event at Lotus London, Mayfair, on 12 May 2026, Kojey’s cultural vision will remain on display in-store until 14 May, allowing guests the opportunity to experience his artistic direction up close – influencing the drivers of tomorrow.
