Cancellation and Refund Policy

What happens when you cancel, what we refund, and what happens to releases you have already published.

Version 1.2 · Effective 10 October 2026

1. Who this applies to

Auto Press Hub is a business-to-business service. We do not offer it to consumers. When you buy, you confirm you are buying for business purposes, and we ask for your company name and, where you have them, your company number and VAT number.

Where you buy through our website, this policy applies. Where you buy under a signed order form, the order form takes precedence over anything below that conflicts with it.

The version of this policy in force on the day you place your order is the version that applies to that order. Previous versions are archived and available on request.

2. When a release counts as delivered

A release is delivered at the moment it is published at its live URL on autopresshub.co.uk. Everything below follows from that moment.

Before publication, you can cancel a single release for a full refund, no questions asked.

After publication, the fee is not refundable — publication cannot be reversed. The release has a public URL, it may already have been read, indexed, copied into a journalist’s story or picked up elsewhere.

3. Single releases

You cancel before we publishFull refund to the original payment method, within 5 working days.
You cancel after we publishNo refund. See section 2.
We hold your release and it does not go aheadSee section 4. You are never charged for a release we did not publish.
We remove it after publication for breaching our Editorial GuidelinesNo refund — it was published. See section 4, including what happens if the removal was our error.
We accept it but fail to publish itFull refund, or we publish it — whichever you prefer.

If you take a plan within 30 days of buying a single release, we credit the full amount you paid against that plan.

4. If a release is held, or removed after publication

A release goes live as soon as you submit it, or at the embargo time you set. We do not review releases before they are published: you are responsible for making sure each one meets our Editorial Guidelines.

Held releases. The only release we hold before publication is one submitted for a brand your account is not yet authorised to publish for. If that authorisation is not confirmed and the release does not go ahead, it never consumes part of your allowance or your fee. If one was deducted, it goes straight back; for a single release, you can take a credit valid for 12 months against any future release, or a refund.

Releases removed after publication. If a published release breaches our Editorial Guidelines, we may remove it, or the part of it that breaches them, and we will tell you why. The release was delivered when it was published (section 2), so its fee or allowance is not returned. Where the problem can be fixed, you can send us a corrected version and we will republish it at no extra charge.

If the removal was not your fault — because we made an error, or because the reason we gave was not in our Editorial Guidelines at the time you submitted — we will restore the release or, if you would rather, return it to your allowance or refund it.

5. Monthly plans

Cancelling. Cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for — you keep your access and your allowance until then, and you are not billed again.

Refunds. We do not refund the current or any previous billing period, and we do not refund unused allowance. You have had the service for that period.

Your allowance. It arrives at the start of each billing period. Unused releases roll over, but the most you can hold at any one time is twice your plan’s monthly allowance. Releases are used oldest first. Rolled-over releases have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and are lost when you cancel or downgrade.

6. Annual plans

Annual plans are paid in full in advance and run for twelve months. In return, your whole year’s allowance is available from day one and you pay eleven months for twelve.

They renew automatically for a further twelve months unless you switch renewal off. We will email you at least 30 days before the renewal date, telling you the date and the price, and you can turn renewal off from your account at any time before then. If you do, your plan simply ends on its renewal date and nothing further is charged.

Cancelling mid-term. An annual plan cannot be cancelled or moved to a lower plan part-way through its twelve months, because you have already received the whole year’s allowance.

The one exception. If you cancel within 14 days of purchase and have used no more than 25% of your annual allowance, we will refund you — calculated on the releases you have actually published, not on the time that has passed. So on a 36-release plan costing £1,980 + VAT, having published four releases, the refund is £1,980 less the value of those four releases at the plan’s per-release rate.

7. Changing plan

Upgrades take effect immediately. Your new allowance replaces the old one for the rest of the period and any unused balance carries across, within the two-times ceiling. On an annual plan we charge the difference between the two annual rates, pro-rated for the months remaining.

Downgrades take effect at your next renewal, not immediately — you keep what you have paid for. If your rolled-over balance is above the new plan’s ceiling, the excess is lost at the point the downgrade takes effect.

8. Prices

Your price is fixed for the term you have paid for. We only change prices at renewal, and we will give you at least 30 days’ notice before a renewal at a higher price, so you can cancel first if you would rather not continue.

If you joined on a launch or founding rate, the rate is held for the period we stated when you signed up. The standard rate you will move to afterwards is printed on every invoice, so there are no surprises.

9. If we suspend or end your account

Non-payment. If an invoice is unpaid, we will tell you. If it is still unpaid 10 days after that notice, we may suspend publishing. Suspension does not cancel what you owe. We will lift it as soon as payment clears.

Breach. Either of us may end the agreement if the other is in material breach and has not put it right within 30 days of being told.

Illegal or seriously misleading content. We may remove a release immediately, and suspend an account, where content is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, or materially misleading. We will tell you why.

If we end it without cause. If we choose to stop providing the service to you when you have done nothing wrong, we will give you 30 days’ notice and refund the unused portion of anything you have paid in advance.

10. What happens to releases you have already published

They stay published. This is the single most important line in this policy, so it is worth being plain about it.

A press release is a matter of record. Journalists cite it, other sites link to it, and it sits in a searchable archive that every other customer has also paid into. A link that dies six months later is a broken citation and a worse archive for everyone. So cancelling your plan stops future billing and future publishing — it does not remove what you have already published, and the licence you gave us to display it continues.

If you need something taken down. Ask us. We will always consider it, and we will always act on a legal, regulatory or court-ordered request. For a straightforward change-of-mind takedown we charge an administration fee of £15 + VAT per release. Vehicle manufacturers publishing through their own manufacturer account pay no fee: we remove their releases on request free of charge, as we do for releases we have gathered from their media sites. We can also, at no charge, add a noindex instruction so the release drops out of search results over the following weeks while the link itself keeps working — which is usually what people actually want.

What we cannot do. We can only remove what we control. Once a release is public it may have been syndicated, cached by search engines, archived by third parties, or quoted in someone else’s article. None of that is within our reach, and removal from our site is not the same as removal from Google — search engines take their own time and follow their own rules.

Your account data. After your account closes we keep your account records and drafts for 12 months so you can come back, then delete them. Deletion cannot be undone.

11. People named in a release

Press releases name people — a press contact, a quoted executive. If you are named in a release on Auto Press Hub and want your details changed or removed, the fastest route is the company that issued it. You can also contact us directly and we will assess your request individually under UK data protection law. In most cases the proportionate answer is to remove or redact your direct contact details rather than take down the whole release, and that is usually what we will do.

If you submit releases to us, you confirm you have the right to publish the personal data they contain and that you have told the people named.

12. Before you raise a dispute with your bank

If something has gone wrong, please contact us first at contact@autopresshub.co.uk. We answer within two working days and we would far rather fix it than argue about it. Raising a card dispute without contacting us first costs us a fee whatever the outcome, and we may suspend an account while a dispute is open.
