Cookie Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Auto Press Hub (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at autopresshub.co.uk (the “Site”). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to site operators. Some cookies are essential for the site to function, while others help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
We also use localStorage, a browser-based storage mechanism similar to cookies, to remember your preferences. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is not sent to our servers with each request.
2. Cookies We Use
The table below lists the cookies and similar technologies used on the Site, grouped by category.
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Site to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as logging in or setting your privacy preferences.
| Cookie Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Supabase | Authentication session cookie. Maintains your logged-in state when you sign in to a journalist or submitter account. | Session / up to 7 days |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | Supabase | PKCE code verifier for secure authentication flow. | Session |
2.2 Preference Storage (localStorage)
We use your browser's localStorage to remember your preferences. This data is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| aph_cookie_consent | Records the choice you made on the cookie banner (accepted or rejected) so we do not show it again. No cookie is set for this. | Until cleared by you |
| aph_saved_articles | The list of articles you have saved for later reading. | Until cleared by you |
| aph:feed-view-mode | Whether you prefer the news feed as a grid or a list. | Until cleared by you |
| aph_newsletter_dismissed_until | Hides the email briefing banner for 24 hours after you dismiss it. | 24 hours |
| aph_article_draft | An unsaved draft of a press release you are writing on the submission form, so it is not lost if the page is closed. | Until the release is submitted or the draft is discarded |
| journalist_registration_data, journalist_registration_email | Carries your details between the steps of journalist registration while you confirm your email address. | Removed when registration completes |
2.3 Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the Site is used — which pages are visited, where visitors arrive from, and which country and device type they use. It works without cookies and without any identifier stored on your device: each visit is counted from a temporary hash that cannot be linked back to you and is discarded at the end of the day. Because nothing is placed on your device, it does not require your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, and it runs whether or not you accept the cookie banner.
We do not store IP addresses in our analytics, and the data we see is aggregated. If we ever introduce an analytics product that does set cookies, it will be switched off until you accept it via the banner, and this policy will be updated first.
3. How to Manage Cookies
When you first visit the Site, you will see a banner asking you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. At present the Site sets no non-essential cookies, so your choice is recorded (in localStorage, under aph_cookie_consent) and honoured if any are introduced in future. To change your choice, use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. However, if you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of the Site (such as signing in to your account) may not work correctly.

4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on the Site are set by third-party services that we use (such as Supabase for authentication). We do not control these cookies. Please refer to the relevant third party's privacy policy for more information about how they use cookies.
We do not allow third-party advertising cookies on the Site. We do not display advertisements and do not share your data with advertisers.
5. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for regulatory reasons. The “last updated” date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
