  • Demonstrates strong real‑world efficiency and consistent charging performance at the NAF El Prix Summer Test
  • The PV5 Passenger with a 71.2kWh battery achieved 260 miles (420km) in real‑world driving, with an average energy consumption of 4.5 miles/kWh (13.8kWh/100km)
  • Ranks among the top 5 vehicles in the family category in terms of WLTP deviation; charging 10-80% in 30 minutes, consistent with official figures

The Kia PV5 Passenger has demonstrated strong real-world efficiency and consistent charging performance at the NAF El Prix Summer Test, the world’s largest independent EV test run by the Norwegian Automotive Federation (NAF) and Motor.

The PV5 Passenger equipped with a 71.2kWh Long Range battery offers up to 256 miles (412km) of range (WLTP). During the test in Norway, conducted on a fixed route from full charge to depletion, the model achieved 260 miles (420km), exceeding its certified WLTP combined range under real-world conditions. The model recorded an average energy consumption of 4.5 miles/kWh (13.8kWh/100km) and ranked among the top five vehicles in the family category of the test.

The PV5 Passenger is based on Kia’s E GMP.S platform and supports 11kW AC charging and DC fast charging up to 150kW. Charging from 10 to 80% took 30 minutes during the test, consistent with official figures and supporting everyday usability.

“These independent results from the NAF El Prix Summer Test confirm the PV5 Passenger meets the demands of everyday family mobility, both in urban use and on longer journeys”, said Erhan Eren, PBV Director at Kia Europe. “With its combination of flexibility, space and efficiency, the model demonstrates reliable real-world performance under daily driving conditions.”

Held twice a year in winter and summer, the NAF El Prix Test evaluates electric vehicles under identical real-world driving and charging conditions. All cars are tested on the same day, ensuring consistent conditions – including a standardized in-cabin temperature of 20°C – to provide customers with reliable, comparable data on range and charging performance.

PV5 Passenger: flexible electric mobility solution
Positioned within Kia’s PBV strategy, the PV5 Passenger combines flexible interior design with comfort, space and connectivity for both personal and commercial use. Based on the E-GMP.S platform, the vehicle delivers class-leading interior space, manoeuvrability and noise insulation.

The 5-seat version is available with 51.5kWh (Standard Range) and 71.2kWh (Long Range) battery options. The front mounted charging port improves usability, particularly for loading and unloading.

With Kia Charge, customers have access to more than one million charging points across 27 European countries, including almost 75,000 in the UK. The PV5 Passenger ‘Plus’ and ‘Elite’ grades are also vehicle-to-load (V2L) capable, which enables the vehicle to power external devices using an internal or external socket.

The PV5 Passenger features a bold and futuristic design concept, with strong visual elements and a clean, modern finish. The software-led architecture offers over-the-air updates and seamless integration with fleet systems for commercial use.

A class-leading 5.5-metre turning radius enhances manoeuvrability in urban environments, while optimised steering and gear ratios help reduce driver fatigue. The model also features a best-in-class suite of advanced driver assistance systems.

Additionally, the PV5 Passenger 7-seat is available to order, with production planned for mid-July 2026.
