  • Kia PV5 Cargo supplied by Midlands-based Brindley Kia will house and power a race simulator for hot laps, ahead of appearing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS)
  • Hot laps will be set by recognisable names for public visiting Goodwood FoS to beat
  • The initiative will raise vital funds for the mental health charity, Men And Their Emotions (M.A.T.E)
  • The PV5 has been supplied to CX Auto Group via the dealership’s Kia Rental service

Brindley Kia, based in the West Midlands, is playing a key role in the creation of a mobile racing simulator that will be used at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS) to raise vital funds for Men And Their Emotions (M.A.T.E), a charity that supports men’s mental health.

The dealer has provided a Kia PV5 Cargo all-electric panel van via its Kia Rental service, loaning it to CX Auto Group for five weeks so it can be adapted to both transport and power the advanced race simulator. Completely off-grid, the simulator rig will be powered directly by the van’s vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability rather than using mains power. Following trial testing, the PV5 uses just 1% of charge for every two hours of simulator usage.

During the lead up to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the simulator will be rolled out amongst top racing drivers and automotive content creators, who together will amass a reach of more than 15 million. Influencer AdamC has set the first lap time ready for the public to try to beat at Goodwood FoS.

CX Auto Group has equipped the van with a Fanatec Racing Simulator and a 55-inch screen. The rig has been mounted on a ‘floating’ floor with a bespoke framework, so that the entire structure can be easily removed after the project.

Kia Rental is a short-term car and van hire service offered by Kia dealerships, allowing customers to choose from a variety of different models as part of a short-term loan, from as little as one day, whether it be for a business or a family occasion.

Natalie Stevenson, Kia Brand Manager at Brindley Kia, commented: “It has been great to support CX Auto Group in the run-up to the Festival, showcasing the PV5 and helping raise essential funds for M.A.T.E. We’re also demonstrating the flexibility of the Kia Rental service, which is ideal for families and businesses alike.

The simulator rig will be the star of the show, displayed on the CX Auto Group stand at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Visitors to the show can compete to top the leaderboard to win prizes, as well as make donations to M.A.T.E.

Why choose the PV5 Cargo?
The fully electric PV5 Cargo is the ideal solution for a variety of tasks, thanks to its wide, square load bay and low floor height. These attributes make it the perfect companion for small‑business deliveries and last‑mile logistics, tradespeople needing temporary capacity for tools and equipment, or for local event support, pop-ups and mobile business operations. For individuals, PV5 Cargo is an excellent companion for house moves, furniture transport, and DIY projects.
