Milton Keynes, 15-09-2026 – CUPRA has strengthened its commitment to one of the world's fastest-growing sports by becoming the Official Automotive Partner of LTA Padel, the national governing body for the sport in Great Britain.
The partnership marks another significant milestone in CUPRA's long-standing relationship with padel and further establishes the brand as a driving force behind the sport's continued growth globally.
As part of the multi-year agreement, CUPRA will become the Official Automotive Partner to LTA Padel and title partner of the CUPRA LTA Padel National League, the largest team-based padel competition in Great Britain. The partnership also includes support for the LTA Padel British Tour, LTA Padel National Championships and Great Britain's national padel teams.
Marcus Gossen, Managing Director of SEAT and CUPRA UK, said: “Padel embodies everything CUPRA stands for. It's dynamic, disruptive and fast-growing, which is why we've partnered with LTA Padel to strengthen our position as the leading automotive supporter of padel in the UK and across the world.
"We look forward to working with LTA Padel to provide more opportunities for people to step onto the court and experience the energy and excitement that makes padel one of the world's fastest-growing sports.”
Tom Murray, Head of Padel at LTA, said: "CUPRA has already shown itself to be a committed partner to padel through its relationships on the global stage with the likes of Premier Padel and the CUPRA FIP Tour. To have a partner that not only has a deep understanding of the sport, but also a keen desire to see it flourish, will help to take British padel’s competitions and national teams to the next level, and we look forward to working with CUPRA towards that shared goal.”
Padel continues to experience remarkable growth in Great Britain, with participation increasing rapidly in recent years and new courts opening across the country. Latest figures show that there are now 1,000,000 players in Britain, compared to just 15,000 in 2019. The growth is supported by rapidly expanding infrastructure with 1,825 courts across 551 venues.
CUPRA has been at the forefront of padel’s international growth since 2019, supporting projects and events that share its ambition to challenge the status quo. The brand's international partnerships include Premier Padel, the International Padel Federation including the CUPRA FIP Tour, and its global roster of CUPRA Padel Tribe pro ambassadors.
In the UK, CUPRA has played a key role in raising awareness of padel through partnerships with leading clubs and events, including the inaugural London Premier Padel P1, creating opportunities for customers and local communities to experience the sport first-hand.
ENDS
Change needs drivers — and CUPRA believes real progress comes through radical disruption, by defying expectations and challenging conventions. Since its launch in 2018, the brand has transformed the automotive industry as an instigator of creativity and an agitator for change.
In just seven years, CUPRA has launched seven models and sold over 1 million vehicles globally. Every CUPRA model is restlessly expressive, design led, and performance driven. Its fully-fledged portfolio includes the CUPRA Ateca, the first car to ever feature the CUPRA badge; the CUPRA Leon, redesigned and enhanced as a standalone CUPRA model; the CUPRA Formentor, the first car to be developed exclusively by the brand and the company’s best-selling vehicle to date; the CUPRA Born, the brand’s first 100% electric vehicle; the CUPRA Tavascan, an all-electric SUV coupe; and the CUPRA Terramar, the brand’s sporty SUV. In 2026, the CUPRA Raval, the brand’s radical interpretation of the electric urban car, will join its lineup.
CUPRA is more than a car. It’s a conviction. The CUPRA Tribe is made up of a team of ambassadors who push back against convention and past the boundaries that hold others back, with members including Spain’s most decorated Olympian, Saúl Craviotto; film director J.A. Bayona; German goalkeeper Marc ter Stegen; and two-time Ballon d'Or and Best FIFA Award-winning footballer Alexia Putellas. Obsessive about elevating emotion on and off the road, CUPRA is also FC Barcelona's official automotive and mobility partner, the Premier Padel Tour's premium sponsor and is also proud to participate in the Formula E racing competition with Kiro Race Co.
