“In a persistently challenging market environment, the Volkswagen Group kept its deliveries outside of China stable overall in the first nine months. We recorded growth in South America and Europe. In our home market, we are seeing a significantly accelerated trend towards all-electric vehicles. The main reasons for this are the currently high fuel prices and the wider range of entry-level models. This includes our Electric Urban Car Family, for which we received nearly 150,000 orders shortly after its launch. This is a tremendous success that underscores how these four vehicles have perfectly captured the spirit of the times. Overall, one in five of the models we’ve delivered in Europe is all-electric, and in our order book, that share is as high as around 40 percent. The sharp decline in the overall market in China remains an industry-wide challenge. At the same time, our new, locally developed electric models are beginning to make an impact. Compared to the same quarter last year, we delivered approximately 30 percent more electrified vehicles to our customers in China in Q3.
Globally, our deliveries after three quarters are approximately nine percent below the same period last year.”
Martin Sander, Member of the Group’s Extended Executive Committee for Sales

Key figures

6.01 million vehicles global deliveries
after nine months, down 9 percent compared
with the prior year (6.60 million vehicles)

Growth in South America (+4 percent), Western Europe (+1 percent), and Central and Eastern Europe (+5 percent) was more than offset by market-related declines in China (-30 percent) and North America (-4 percent)

678,700 vehicles worldwide BEV deliveries
by the end of September,
down 5 percent year-on-year (717,700 vehicles);
growth momentum in Europe accelerated to +20 percent in Q3

The Volkswagen Group remains the clear BEV market leader in Europe1 and significantly accelerated its growth trajectory in Q3 with an increase of 20 percent; the BEV share in Europe rose from 18 to 20 percent after nine months; in China, the new, locally developed electric models are generating positive momentum in a significantly declining market; the overall BEV market in the U.S. declined significantly following the expiration of government subsidy programs; amid continued high pressure from import tariffs, BEV deliveries there fell by 78 percent

BEV order book in Europe
doubled compared with year-end 2025

BEV order intake in Europe rises by more than 60 percent in Q3 compared with the prior-year period; in particular, the recently launched Electric Urban Car Family comprising the VW ID. Polo and ID. Cross2, Škoda Epiq, and CUPRA Raval is proving highly popular with customers, with nearly 150,000 orders to date. Order intake across all powertrains in Europe increases by 4 percent in the first three quarters; order book grows by around 11 percent compared with year-end 2025, BEV share of the order book rises to around 40 percent

368,000 vehicles global PHEV and EREV deliveries
are up around 23 percent above the prior-year period

Demand for vehicles with modern second-generation plug-in hybrid powertrains (PHEV) and range-extender powertrains (EREV) is increasing; in China, deliveries of electrified vehicles rose by around 30 percent in Q3 compared with the prior-year quarter, with PHEV and EREV models in particularly strong demand

Development of core regions

Europe
Deliveries in the region increased by 1.7 percent compared with the prior-year period to 2,956,000 vehicles. Growth amounted to 1.1 percent in Western Europe and 5.3 percent in Central and Eastern Europe. In the home market of Germany, 0.9 percent more vehicles were handed over to customers

North America
Deliveries in North America developed broadly in line with the market, also supported by new models such as the Tiguan. A total of 680,200 customers took delivery of a Group brand vehicle, 4.0 percent fewer than in the prior-year period. In the key U.S. market, deliveries declined by 7.8 percent in a challenging environment characterized by the tariff situation and changes in regulation.

South America
The Volkswagen Group delivered 502,500 vehicles in the region, an increase of 4.3 percent compared with the prior year. In the key market of Brazil, growth amounted to 12.3 percent.

Asia-Pacific
Deliveries in the region declined by 27.9 percent compared with the prior-year period to 1,591,300 units. The Volkswagen Group was unable to escape the significant decline in the Chinese total market, particularly in the combustion-engine vehicle business, and recorded a 30.2 percent decrease in deliveries.
