Through its partnership with Team GB, Vauxhall is proud to announce the signing of four exciting British athletes as brand ambassadors: track cyclist Emma Finucane MBE, taekwondo athlete Caden Cunningham, gymnast Jake Jarman, and diver Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix.
Representing the next generation of British sporting talent, all four young athletes have already established themselves on the Olympic stage, with each having won a medal at Paris 2024. As they look towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, they have their sights firmly set on further success.
Vauxhall will support each athlete throughout the next Olympic cycle, helping them navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with competing at the highest level of sport. The collaboration reflects Vauxhall’s commitment to backing British talent and investing in the future, championing individuals whose ambition, dedication, and determination embody the brand’s own values.
To help keep them moving on and off the training ground, each athlete has been provided with a new Vauxhall Astra or Astra Sports Tourer Ultimate, ensuring they have reliable, practical, and stylish transport as they balance demanding training schedules, competitions, and everyday life. The vehicles mark the beginning of a partnership that will grow alongside the athletes’ careers as they work towards achieving their LA2028 dreams.
Emma and Andrea feature in the new “Astraordinary” TV campaign, which airs from 7th September and can be viewed here.
At Paris 2024, track cyclist Emma Finucane MBE became one of Team GB’s breakout stars, winning Olympic gold in the women’s team sprint and adding bronze medals in both the sprint and keirin, becoming the first British woman in 60 years to win three medals at a single Games. Finucane made history once again at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, becoming the first sprint cyclist to win four gold medals at a single Games.
Emma said: “I’m loving my Astra! I regularly travel long distances to see my family in Wales, and the Astra is the perfect companion, especially with the massage seats. As a cyclist, having the extra space and practicality of the Sports Tourer is really useful too. I’m grateful to Vauxhall for its support of Team GB – the Astra has become an integral part of my routine as I work towards LA2028.”
Diver Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, competing at her second Olympic Games at Paris 2024, earned bronze in the women’s 10m synchronised platform event alongside Lois Toulson, marking the first Olympic medal of her career. At the age of 21, Andrea is Britain’s most successful and decorated female diver of all time.
Andrea said: "Having just passed my driving test, working with Vauxhall couldn’t have come at a better time! The Astra is a great first car for me – it's an ideal size with space for all my training kit, and perfect for giving lifts to teammates and driving to competitions. Having the new Astra takes one less logistical consideration off my plate, helping me to focus on my training, my performance, and representing Team GB on the Olympic stage.”
Artistic gymnast Jake Jarman is a multiple British, European, Commonwealth and World Champion who claimed bronze in the men’s floor exercise at Paris 2024. Jarman even has a gymnastics move named after him. “The Jarman” was officially named by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) in 2023 after he successfully performed it at the World Challenge Cup in Paris and is one of only three I-rated skills in men's artistic gymnastics.
Jake said: “One of my first memories of Vauxhall was my nan explaining to me that the best car she had ever driven was a Vauxhall Astra, which then ended up being the car that I passed my driving test in. My coach also used to take me to training camps in his Vauxhall, so it’s fair to say that the brand has played a big part in my life and career. It means a great deal to me knowing that Vauxhall is now supporting Team GB and I’m really excited to be back behind the wheel of an Astra!”
Caden Cunningham announced himself as one of the world’s leading taekwondo athletes by securing silver in the men’s +80kg competition on his Olympic debut at Paris 2024.
Caden said: “It feels particularly special to be partnering with Vauxhall as I work towards competing at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, as some of my earliest memories of Taekwondo include being driven to training sessions by my dad in his Vauxhall Astra - it feels like a real full-circle moment.”
Together, these four athletes embody the next generation of Team GB talent and are among Britain’s brightest sporting stars heading towards LA28.
Eurig Druce, Vauxhall Managing Director & Stellantis UK Group Managing Director, said: “We are incredibly proud to welcome Emma, Caden, Jake, and Andrea to the Vauxhall family. They are four exceptional athletes who have already achieved so much on the world stage for their country, but what excites us most is what lies ahead.”
“As they begin their journey towards LA28, Vauxhall will be supporting them every step of the way, helping them focus on achieving their ambitions and inspiring the next generation along the way. Their drive, resilience, and determination perfectly reflect the values we stand for as a brand. We are delighted to provide each athlete with a New Astra and look forward to working closely with them over the coming years as they pursue Olympic success and continue to make the nation proud.”
Jon Dutton, British Olympic Association CEO, said: “We’re delighted to see Vauxhall supporting Emma, Caden, Jake and Andrea as they embark on the next stage of their Olympic journeys. All four athletes represent the incredible depth of talent within Team GB and their respective sports.
“Partnerships such as this play an important role in supporting athletes both in competition and in their everyday lives. We’re proud to see Vauxhall backing these four athletes as they look ahead to LA28, and we hope their stories, achievements and ambitions will inspire the next generation.”
