  • New chapter: Vauxhall STX Concept previews the future of the estate car
  • Bold and pure: Concept will showcase the next evolution of Vauxhall’s design language
  • Practical and flexible: Latest Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer continues long tradition of innovative Vauxhall estates
  • STX Concept will debut at Paris Motor Show 2026

Vauxhall has confirmed that its new concept car will be named the Vauxhall STX Concept. The concept will celebrate its world premiere at the ‘Mondial de l’Auto’ in Paris, alongside sister brand Opel.

The name STX stands for Sports Tourer eXperimental, associating the concept with Vauxhall’s long-standing Sports Tourer line-up. The STX Concept also signals the brand’s vision for the future of the estate car, while previewing the next evolution of Vauxhall’s bold and pure design language.

Vauxhall played a pioneering role in establishing the estate body style in the UK with the introduction of the Victor F Estate in 1958, marking the beginning of the brand's long history of practical and innovative factory-built estate cars.

Today, the New Astra Sports Tourer continues that tradition, combining distinctive design, advanced technology, and everyday versatility. Thanks to its sophisticated design, featuring a narrower, more precise Vauxhall Vizor, a permanently illuminated Griffin, and the illuminated Compass design signature, the New Astra Sports Tourer can comfortably double as a stylish family car or as an eye-catching workhorse that offers up to 1,634 litres of load volume with a choice of fully electric, plug-in hybrid, hybrid, and petrol powertrains.

Florian Huettl, Opel-Vauxhall CEO, said: “As the name indicates, the STX Concept will give our vision of the future of an aero-efficient estate – a body style that Opel and Vauxhall played a pioneering role in establishing in Europe. It shows our next-generation design language and feature elements that you will see in future production models.”

The STX Concept will receive its world premiere at 11.40 CEST on Monday, 12th October at the Paris Motor Show 2026. Further details on the new concept car will follow closer to the world premiere.

ABOUT VAUXHALL MOTORS

Vauxhall Motors started making cars in the UK in 1903. Today, as the oldest and most familiar of Britain’s automotive manufacturers, its philosophy is to build vehicles that are relevant to all and offer design, high levels of equipment and technology, and electrification at an attainable level. Vauxhall is one of few automotive brands to produce electric vehicles in Britain at its manufacturing plant in Ellesmere Port – the UK’s first electric-only manufacturing plant where the Combo Electric van is made. Vauxhall’s Electric Streets of Britain campaign raises the profile of the need for more on-street electric vehicle charging so that everyone can benefit from the switch to electric. Vauxhall is proud to be the official automotive partner of Team GB. The partnership sees Britain's most loved sports team and one of Britain’s most recognisable automotive brands joining forces, with Vauxhall supporting athletes as they prepare for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Vauxhall is part of Stellantis NV, a global leader created for the new era of sustainable mobility as a result of the merger between Groupe PSA and FCA Group in January 2021. Vauxhall is a leader in electrification – as of 2021, it was one of the first manufacturers to offer fully electric versions of all its vans. Since the end of 2024, Vauxhall has offered a fully electric version of every model in its car and van line-up. Info: www.vauxhall.co.uk
