Wayve, Stellantis, and NVIDIA collaborate to advance safe and responsible autonomous vehicle deployment across France

Announcement made alongside the French Government as it paves the way for an AI and autonomous mobility ecosystem
PARIS, October 23, 2026 – Wayve, the London-based developer of embodied AI for driving, joined NVIDIA, Stellantis, and the French Government at the Assises du Véhicule Autonome today to announce a collaboration focused on advancing the deployment of autonomous vehicles (AVs) in France and accelerating the technology's development across the EU.
Building on existing collaborations among the partners, the initiative combines Stellantis’ L4-Ready Platforms™ and vehicle engineering and manufacturing expertise with the Wayve AI Driver, which will integrate NVIDIA Halos OS on the NVIDIA Hyperion compute and sensor architecture. Together, these capabilities position France as the base for an ecosystem spanning the full AV value chain, from silicon to vehicles.
Host to one of the largest ride-hailing markets in Europe and the AI Action Summit in Paris, where €109 billion in AI investment was announced in 2025, France is a natural home to launch this collaboration and will be an essential partner in Wayve's expansion
Alongside the French government, this announcement comes as an important demonstration for how industry and government should work closely on how the technology can be deployed safely and responsibly in the coming years. By combining expertise in AI, compute, and vehicle engineering and manufacturing, the collaboration aims to strengthen the ecosystem in France, and Europe more broadly, to compete globally in autonomous driving.
The collaboration is also committed to developing autonomous driving alongside local French partners. Engagement with unions, city authorities, and mobility stakeholders will be led by the local partners responsible for transport operations, with the aim of ensuring that the transition to autonomous transport benefits workers, communities, and riders across the ecosystem. Together with the French Government, the collaboration aims to help make France a leading European home for AI-driven mobility.
Philippe TABAROT, French Minister of Transports, said: “I am pleased to see this collaboration between Wayve, NVIDIA and Stellantis launched at the Autonomous Vehicle Forum in France. France is committed to adapting its regulatory framework to accelerate the development of autonomous vehicles while maintaining strict safety and data sovereignty requirements. By bringing together trade unions, city authorities, and mobility stakeholders, this collaboration embodies the collaborative spirit of the Assises du Véhicule Autonome, as well as the approach required to transition from trials to real-world deployment.”
Kaity Fischer, VP Autonomous Mobility & Operations at Wayve, said: "France is leading the way in preparing for autonomous vehicles, and we’re proud to enter this collaboration at such an important moment. By working directly with the French Government and our partners, we can help shape how this technology is deployed safely and responsibly and accelerate its development across the country and entire EU."
Anne Laliron, SVP of Technology Research at Stellantis, said: This collaboration will help accelerate the delivery of autonomous driving technologies that make mobility safer and more convenient for customers. While its impact is global, France is one of Stellantis’ key centers for engineering and technology development, making it a natural home for advancing the future of AI-powered mobility."
Ali Kani, VP of Automotive at NVIDIA, said: “Bringing safe autonomous mobility to Europe requires deep collaboration across AI, computing and vehicle engineering. NVIDIA Hyperion platform, combined with Wayve’s embodied AI and Stellantis’ automotive expertise, provides a foundation for that ambition. Together with the French Government and local partners, we can help build an ecosystem that brings the benefits of autonomous driving to communities across France and Europe.”
