TURIN, October 15, 2026 – More than 700 middle-school students, accompanied by around 100 teachers from seven schools across Turin, gathered today at Turin’s Heritage Hub for Future Days 2026, the STEM career guidance program supported by Stellantis Philanthropy and delivered in partnership with Next Level.
The event offered a full day of listening, discovery and dialogue, designed to help young people gain a deeper understanding of future career opportunities and make more informed choices about their educational paths.
Bridging the Gap Between School and the World of Work
The first part of the day featured a discussion between students and Stellantis leaders, including John Elkann, Chairman of Stellantis; Emanuele Cappellano, Head of Stellantis Europe, European Brands and Pro One; Santo Ficili, Head of Alfa Romeo and Maserati; and Paola Baratta, Head of the Mirafiori Battery Technology Center.
The discussion explored topics central to the future of younger generations, ranging from skills development and technology to artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, the importance of human relationships, adaptability and the courage required to shape one’s own career path.
For Santo Ficili, the event also carried a personal significance. Among the participating schools was the middle school he once attended, providing a powerful reminder that a journey that begins in a classroom can lead to positions of leadership and responsibility.
Representing their schools, seven pairs of students took to the stage to ask questions developed through classroom activities leading up to the event. The direct exchange with company leaders helped connect students’ interests, aspirations and school subjects with the skills required in a rapidly evolving industry, demonstrating that every product and technology is the result of diverse professionals working together and continuously learning.
“The future of our country is built by giving young people the tools and confidence to recognize their talents. Through Future Days, we want to bring schools closer to the world of work, show students the many paths available to them, and encourage them to make their choices with curiosity and courage. It is a responsibility Stellantis feels toward the communities and territories where it operates,” said John Elkann.
“In a rapidly changing world, technical knowledge is essential, but it is not enough on its own. Curiosity, the ability to listen and a willingness to engage with others are equally important. No significant achievement is ever the result of one person alone. My wish for these students is that they find strong allies along their journey and, in turn, become role models for others,” said Emanuele Cappellano.
Following the plenary session, students took part in immersive experiences at the places where innovation, research, design and manufacturing come to life, including the Heritage Hub, Centro Ricerche Fiat, Centro Stile, Circular Economy Hub, Competitive Benchmarking Center and Battery Technology Center.
The program also featured road safety activities involving Fiat Topolino and anti-bullying awareness initiatives centered around Citroën Ami. Through site visits, demonstrations, hands-on activities and discussions with Stellantis professionals, participants were able to explore different disciplines and careers while gaining a better understanding of how scientific knowledge, creativity, digital skills and practical expertise come together to shape the future of mobility.
By opening its workplaces to students, Stellantis transformed operational sites into learning environments where young people could observe technologies, processes and tools in action while meeting the people who use them every day. This hands-on approach helps bring schools and businesses closer together and makes career opportunities more visible and accessible to younger generations.
Guidance, Inclusion and Recognition of Achievement
In the afternoon, the 700 students were joined by children of Stellantis employees currently attending middle school. They participated in mentoring sessions and discussions with Stellantis professionals organized around seven thematic areas.
Working in small groups, students had the opportunity to learn about different educational and professional journeys, ask questions and reflect on their own aspirations in an open and informal setting.
The day concluded with a discussion between John Elkann, Stellantis leaders and students on educational choices, personal growth and future opportunities, followed by the presentation of the 2025 Stellantis Student Awards.
The awards recognized 48 students for their outstanding academic achievements, highlighting the importance of commitment, merit and dedication to learning. Ten of the award recipients also chose to participate in the full day’s activities as part of a broader awareness-building experience focused on understanding the realities of the communities in which they live and work.
Future Days is part of the Stellantis Philanthropy program, which brings together the Company’s initiatives dedicated to education, inclusion and community development. Delivered in partnership with Next Level, the program aims to combat school dropout rates and support students in discovering STEM disciplines and the career opportunities associated with them by connecting schools, local communities and the world of work.
Through career guidance activities, hands-on experiences and opportunities to engage directly with professionals and business leaders, the initiative seeks to help young people become more aware of their talents and of the opportunities they can build through education.
The Turin event marks the opening of the 2026 national calendar. Additional Future Days events will be held across Italy through November in the communities where Stellantis manufacturing facilities are located, continuing the program’s commitment to listening, career guidance and local community engagement.
