- Škoda announces new dog cleaning system, perfect for post-walkies paws
- New option features an extendable hose built into the door to clean your mucky pup’s paws before getting in the car after muddy walks
- Škoda Hound Hose is situated where the Simply Clever umbrella is usually found, neatly installed within the door
Milton Keynes, 1 April 2026 – Škoda is expanding its Simply Clever range with an innovative new power washing system – Hound Hose. The new accessory is designed to clean the paws of dirty dogs before getting back in the car after long walks, keeping customers’ beloved canines and cars squeaky clean.
Available across the model range, the Hound Hose features a compact hose integrated into the driver’s door to pamper the paws of dirty doggies and preserve the cleanliness of both car and canine. Using a bespoke reservoir situated in the door and a pull-out pressurised hose, the Hound Hose features multiple spray settings:
- Škoda Spritz – quick-wash function for lightly muddy escapades
- Matted in mud – mid setting for dogs that made the most of every puddle on the walk
- I love you, but you’re not getting in my brand-new Škoda when you are this muddy – strongest setting to get the dirtiest of dogs perfectly pampered
Each of the three settings ensures that the muddiest of mischief‑making mutts are suitably cleaned after every walk – from woof‑and‑tumble times in puddles to long runs in the forest.
For customers with range-topping L&K models, a heating element and shampoo makes every hose-down an experience of pure pedigree elegance and luxury. For those with a vRS and the most dynamic doggies, a more powerful turbocharged water pump provides a deeper clean to freshen every fur follicle with the speed expected of a Škoda performance product.
The Škoda Hound Hose is set to revolutionise dog mobility, supplying an effective and thorough clean for every canine that regally rides in its owner’s Škoda. With the system, muddy pups will no longer leave seats looking ruff, and no carpets a-paw-lingly unclean.
As one of the first automotive brands to offer dog-specific accessories – Škoda remains committed to ensuring that it is the pick of the litter for dogs as well as humans. Many Škoda models have won dog-related awards for their design, functionality and space for dogs, including:
- Enyaq - ‘Best car for dog owners’ - AutoTrader
- Kodiaq - ’#1 SUV for dogs’ - Parkers
- Superb Estate - ‘#1 dog friendly car’ - carwow
- Superb Estate - ‘#1 best car for dog owners’ - Carbuyer

Pawla Fetchmore, Škoda UK, said: “Škoda is barking mad about dogs, and we know first-hand that the majority of dog owners - from those that own the tiniest chihuahuas to the greatest of Danes - have, at least once, rolled their eyes and sighed at the sight of dirty paw prints squelched into the carpet of a new car. With the Hound Hose, Škoda has put both dog and owner first, adding this ingenious feature to the already essential line-up of Simply Clever features.”
