Milton Keynes, 1 October 2026: The new Škoda Peaq has won its first award in the UK after being crowned Large SUV of the Year in the annual News UK Motor Awards. Skoda’s first ever seven-seater EV is set to arrive in the UK early next year, and has already proven itself to be a hit with reviewers.
The News UK Motor Awards are an annual automotive awards held by publisher News UK, and recognise the best new vehicles across various categories through the combined expertise of The Times, The Sunday Times, and The Sun.
The judging panel praised the Peaq’s interior design and layout and intuitive technology, and highlighted its numerous family-friendly features. Commenting on the Peaq’s win, Will Dron, Digital Driving Editor at The Times and Sunday Times, said: "Skoda continues to exceed expectations for quality, practicality and desirability, and the Peaq is no exception. It makes such clever use of its interior space, with a large boot and a third row of seats that are genuinely usable by adults.
Dron also singled out the Peaq’s high-quality feel and broad range, adding: ”The cabin is more than just spacious – it features high-end materials and has premium features, such as the electrochromic panoramic glass roof, and physical controls have been retained alongside the touchscreen. With plenty of range in the battery options, bi-directional charging, and impressive performance and handling, the Peaq is an exceptional car for large families.”
Already available to order ahead of its arrival at retailers in Q1 next year, the Peaq sits at the top of Škoda’s expanded EV range. Featuring an 86kWh (usable) battery and delivering up to 395 of combined WLTP range, the new Peaq introduces a bold new look inside and out with seating for up to seven occupants. Thanks to its efficient charging system, the Peaq can be charged from 10-80% in just 28 minutes and can be specified with all-wheel drive in SE L and SportLine forms.
Customers can choose between three trim grades: SE L, Edition and SportLine with OTR prices starting from £51,980.
