There’s plenty of room for celebration at Renault, after the Trafic Passenger was named Editor’s Choice for MPVs with more than seven seats in the Diesel&EcoCar Diesel Top 40 2026 awards.

This latest recognition underlines Trafic Passenger’s appeal as a practical, flexible choice for customers who need to move more people without compromising on comfort or everyday usability.

Highlighting the qualities that led to this latest award win, Ian Robertson, Editor of Diesel&EcoCar, said: “The Trafic Passenger blends its versatile commercial roots with genuine everyday usability, offering seating for up to nine. Its 2.0-litre diesel engine delivers decent punch while returning solid efficiency and sliding side doors add real practicality. Inside, it’s straightforward but robust, with plenty of room for passengers and luggage alike. Comfortable, affordable and hugely versatile, it’s our Editor's Choice for MPVs with more than seven seats.”

Seb Brechon, Head of LCV and Brand Performance, Renault UK, commented: "The forthcoming arrival of the new Trafic Van E-Tech electric has captured a huge number of headlines, but this award proves how versions of the current Trafic really are working in every way for business users. This recognition shows that Trafic Passenger is unrivalled when it comes to offering the practicality, quality and comfort that the likes of transfer providers, shuttle operators and even large families need at a highly competitive price point."

Whether it’s carrying a family, a work crew or a full complement of passengers, Trafic Passenger has the space to make nine-up travel considerably less of a squeeze.

The recently-enhanced line-up includes Advance and Extra trim levels with short and long wheelbase models available, alongside a choice of Blue dCi 110, Blue dCi 150 and automatic or manual Blue dCi 170 powertrains. The recent updates also improved fuel economy and reduced CO₂ emissions, helping to lower the cost of ownership further.

Inside, large glass areas help create a bright, airy cabin, while up to 84.2 litres of onboard storage and as much as 5.7m³ of boot volume provide plenty of space for everything that needs to come along for the ride.

The Renault Trafic Passenger range is priced from £45,385 OTR.
