MG Motor UK has announced a series of upgrades to the MG3, MG ZS and MG HS, bringing smoother Hybrid+ driving alongside greater comfort, convenience and cabin refinement across all three ranges.

For MG3 and MG ZS, upgrades to the traction motor and generator deliver improved sustained performance, with reduced noise and vibration creating a quieter, more relaxed drive, while retaining impressive fuel-efficiency throughout.

MG’s innovative Hybrid+ system continues to use the same class-leading high capacity 1.83kWh battery, allowing for a more electrified drive with power effortlessly deployed through the dedicated 3-speed automatic transmission, the only example in the segment,

For drivers, these powertrain refinements yield superior fuel efficiency alongside more immediate performance response – translating to punchy acceleration, confident overtaking manoeuvres, and a significantly quieter, more enjoyable driving experience for day-to-day journeys.

Across all three ranges, new upholstery and additional comfort, convenience and technology improve cabin ambience and everyday usability.

These model enhancements build on MG’s blend of capability, space, efficiency, and generous equipment. Together, the updates strengthen the everyday appeal of three generously equipped models while retaining MG’s strong value proposition and seven-year/80,000-mile warranty.

David Allison, Director of Product and Planning at MG Motor UK, said: “Customers choose MG because they expect superior equipment, modern technology and an enjoyable car to drive. Keeping that promise means continuing to improve our most popular models.

“With smoother, quieter Hybrid+ driving in the MG3 and MG ZS, and added comfort and convenience across all three ranges, these upgrades give customers more of what matters on every journey, while retaining the strong value at the heart of their appeal.”

MG3 - BIG HYBRID+ TECH, EXCEPTIONAL VALUE
The MG3 seamlessly combines compact proportions with advanced Hybrid+ technology and responsive performance, delivering exceptional versatility for everyday driving. Designed with modern urban lifestyles in mind, it offers outstanding practicality and efficiency for the daily commute, while maintaining a confident, engaging character behind the wheel.

MG3 Hybrid+ retains its 194 PS output while delivering up to 64.2 mpg and CO₂ emissions of 100 g/km. Alongside the powertrain refinements, all MG3 versions receive upgraded interior upholstery. SE versions gain an updated black cloth finish with a new seat design, while Trophy Hybrid+ has a more luxurious feel thanks to new black leather- and suede-style upholstery.

MG3 Hybrid+ is available to order now from MG retailers. Prices start from £19,995 for SE Hybrid+ and £21,995 for Trophy Hybrid+. The upgraded MG3 petrol model will follow later in 2026, available from just £17,995.

MG ZS - SPACIOUS SUV WITH HYBRID+ EFFICIENCY
The MG ZS compact SUV combines family-friendly space and versatility with extensive equipment and a strong focus on value. Its efficient 196 PS Hybrid+ powertrain offers an accessible route to electrified driving without needing to plug in, while its practical interior, featuring 30 storage spaces and a 443L capacity boot, makes it well suited to commutes, school runs and longer family journeys.

The Hybrid+ powertrain refinements are accompanied by several cabin and convenience upgrades. SE Hybrid+ models gain a 360-degree high-definition camera with rear parking sensors for greater visibility and confidence in tight spaces, plus a wireless phone charger to reduce cable clutter. Trophy Hybrid+ trim levels also gain an opening panoramic sunroof for a brighter, airier cabin and a power tailgate for easier loading into the generous luggage space.

In the cabin, SE Hybrid+ cars feature improved black cloth upholstery, while Trophy Hybrid+ receives new black leather- and suede-style upholstery for a more premium cabin. Emerald Green now joins the metallic paint palette.

The enhanced MG ZS is available now. Prices start from £21,495 for SE petrol and £23,995 for SE Hybrid+.

MG HS - ADVANCED HYBRID TECHNOLOGY
The MG HS is the UK’s sixth best-selling car year to date in 2026, according to SMMT registration data to the end of August. Offering petrol, Hybrid+ and Plug-in Hybrid powertrains, it combines family-friendly space and comfort with a strong proposition for private and business customers. The Plug-in Hybrid is particularly well suited to company-car drivers, offering electric driving for daily journeys with seamless EV to petrol flexibility for a combined range of 670+ miles.

For company-car drivers, the MG HS Plug-in Hybrid sits in the 7% Benefit-in-Kind tax band and offers up to 75 miles of electric range, with WLTP combined CO₂ emissions of 12 g/km. Many daily commutes and urban journeys can therefore be completed on electric power, with the petrol engine providing flexibility for longer trips, all while offering competitive acceleration for added driver confidence. Enhanced seating and a spacious cabin add further comfort for drivers who spend much of their working day behind the wheel.

Cold mornings are now more comfortable in SE models thanks to heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. Wireless phone charging and one-touch operation for all four electric windows also join the SE specification. Trophy models gain ventilated front seats for warmer days, together with an opening panoramic sunroof that gives the cabin a lighter, airier feel - all contributing to the quiet, refined feel of the MG HS range.

Parking is now much easier with a 360-degree high-definition camera across the range and a new mirror tilt-down function that helps drivers keep kerbs in view when reversing. SE models also gain electrically folding mirrors with memory, while petrol SE and Trophy versions add iSMART connected services - giving owners the convenience of accessing functions like pre-setting the cabin climate remotely from their smartphone.

New black cloth upholstery refreshes the SE interior, while Trophy receives black leather- and suede-style upholstery, with a new optional red interior finish available for extra cost. Outside, Arctic Blue becomes the standard colour, and Camden Grey and Cosmic Silver metallic finishes replace Hampstead Grey and Sterling Silver.

HS prices start from £27,495 for SE petrol, £30,495 for SE Hybrid+ and £33,495 for SE Plug-in Hybrid Highly specified Trophy models are all available for an extra £2,500 compared to the SE equivalents

The upgraded MG HS range is available to order now, with the first MG HS Plug-in Hybrid models expected to arrive at retailers by mid-October.
