- The Mercedes-Benz Vans Sprinter has won the Most Reliable Van Award at the FN50 Awards 2026
- Judges based the award on the average number of days off the road with unplanned mechanical problems
- It comes after significant investment in ‘Uptime Promise’, offering proactive and reactive customer services.
London, Wednesday November 4 2026, 00.01: Mercedes-Benz Vans in the UK has won the Most Reliable Van Award at the FN50 Reliability 2026 Awards, held on Tuesday 3 November at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.
The prestigious FN50 Awards, hosted by Fleet News, brought together dealer partners, leasing companies and fleet managers from across the UK to celebrate and recognise individuals, teams, models and companies for their contributions to the UK’s fleet sector.
The “Most Reliable Vanmaker” Award represents the most dependable manufacturers and models for vans - according to data from the FN50 report.
Leasing companies were asked to consider the brands and vehicles in fleet over the last 12 months and list the most reliable ones based on the average number of days off the road with unplanned mechanical problems.
Having held the title from 2015 until 2023, the win is a welcome return for Mercedes-Benz Vans.
Simon Neill, Operations Directors at Mercedes-Benz Vans said: “We know just how much businesses depend on their vans. Whether it’s carrying tools, people, parcels or prescriptions, it’s also carrying a promise. A promise of a job completed, a service kept and customers looked after, so reliability really is everything.
“That’s why we’re incredibly proud to see the Sprinter recognised as the UK’s most reliable van. It’s a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the hard work of our teams and dealer partners, who go above and beyond to keep our customers moving.
“We’re not resting on our laurels, though. We’re continuing to invest in our vans and the support behind them, with a greater focus on proactive vehicle care. By spotting potential issues early, we can help customers avoid unnecessary disruption and spend less time worrying about their vans and more time getting on with what they do best.”
Stephen Briers, Group Editor at Fleet News said: “The Sprinter returns to the top of the FN50 reliability league table thanks to its excellent quality and incredible durability. For the past 12 years, the Sprinter has placed top two for reliability, and it reclaims its crown last won in 2023. For consistency, there has been no better van, according to the UK’s largest leasing companies. With a new van due for imminent launch, with dedicated platforms for electric and combustion engines, we see no reason why its dominance in the FN50 reliability index won’t continue.”
Mercedes-Benz Vans has also retained second place for its support of UK fleets and leasing companies.
Iain Forsyth, Managing Director at Mercedes-Benz Vans said: “We put a lot of work into making sure our customers can count on us, and it’s brilliant to see that recognised.
Reliability doesn’t happen by accident. It takes continued investment in our vehicles, technology and the support we offer customers.
“Our Uptime Promise offering is a great example of that, helping us spot potential issues before they become bigger problems. But technology can only take us so far. It’s the knowledge and experience of the people across our network that bring it all together, and I’m really proud of what we’re achieving.”
