MEDIA ADVISORY

McLaren today announces McL 820, the next McLaren series supercar, coming in 2027.

To mark the announcement, McLaren unveiled a kiwi bird statue in central London, wrapped in camouflage bearing the new name. First used by Bruce McLaren, the kiwi represents a defining part of McLaren’s heritage. It connects the brand with its beginnings, whilst looking confidently towards the future.

The new naming structure combines the McL prefix, inspired by McLaren's motorsport heritage, with a performance-driven numerical identifier. In the case of McL 820, the number reflects the vehicle's 820PS power output.

The naming convention marks the next chapter in McLaren's evolution, creating a clearer and more consistent approach that unifies cars across McLaren Automotive and Racing.

Further details will be announced 2027.
