  • Global deliveries reach 105,656 in September and a record 310,052 in Q3

Leapmotor has delivered its strongest month yet in the UK and held a 1% share of the new car market throughout the third quarter of 2026, just 18 months after launching in the country.

According to the latest figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Leapmotor recorded 3,943 registrations in September, up more than 700% from the same month last year and taking its market share to 1.1%. Year-to-date registrations now stand at 13,283 vehicles, compared with 1,535 during the same period in 2025.

Since launching in March 2025, Leapmotor has become one of the fastest-growing brands in the UK, combining advanced technology, a comprehensive standard specification, and accessible pricing.

A key driver for this success has been the Leapmotor B10. The all-electric family SUV recorded 1,883 registrations in September, placing it among the UK's five best-selling electric vehicles during the month and accounting for almost half of Leapmotor's September total. In the all-important retail BEV market, the Leapmotor B10 placed second in September, just behind the Škoda Elroq.

Leapmotor's growth continues to be underpinned by its focus on electrification. BEVs account for 94% of its UK registrations year to date.

The brand has also continued to build momentum among private buyers, with retail registrations accounting for 58% of year-to-date registrations. This reflects growing consumer confidence in Leapmotor's proposition of technology-rich electric vehicles at accessible prices.

Leapmotor's UK success comes against a backdrop of significant global growth. In September, the company delivered 105,656 vehicles worldwide, the third consecutive month in which global deliveries exceeded 100,000 units, contributing to a record third quarter of 310,052 deliveries. This further strengthens Leapmotor's position as the leading Chinese new-energy vehicle start-up and places it among the top three by global deliveries.

Damien Dally, Leapmotor UK Managing Director, said: "Holding a 1% share in every month of the quarter shows the strength and consistency of demand for Leapmotor in the UK.

“Electric is at the heart of everything we do in the UK, and drivers are responding. What's most encouraging is that this growth is coming from customers choosing us on the strength of the product. The B10 is a great example, offering the space, technology and equipment people want from a family electric car at a price that makes the switch easier.

"With the B10 now among the UK's best-selling EVs, a growing retailer network and the backing of Stellantis, we have great confidence in the road ahead."

Leapmotor's UK retail network now comprises 93 locations nationwide.
