- As UK temperatures climb, Guard Mode offers dog owners peace of mind during short stops
As the UK braces for another spell of hot weather, Leapmotor is shining a light on an innovative dog-friendly feature that's fitted as standard to its award winning electric C10 SUV.
While most pet parents know not to leave their dogs in hot vehicles, sometimes real life gets in the way – whether it’s a quick dash into shops or an unexpected stop at a service station. That’s where Leapmotor’s Guard Mode steps in.
Activated via the car’s central touchscreen, Guard Mode automatically keeps the cabin cool and comfortable by maintaining a steady temperature (default 30 minutes, but customisable) even after the vehicle has been locked.
With a roomy rear cabin and a large boot, the Leapmotor C10 offers plenty of space for pets to stretch out and stay comfortable – making it a perfect companion for dog-friendly adventures.
To help reassure passers-by, a message appears on the 14.6-inch HD infotainment screen, letting them know the air con is on, the dog is safe, and that the owner will be back soon.
A live temperature reading and countdown timer bring further peace of mind for concerned members of the public.
Guard Mode comes as standard on every C10, with no subscription or upgrade required.
Damien Dally, Managing Director, Leapmotor UK (and dog owner) said: “While it’s always safer and recommended to take your dog with you, sometimes you need to leave your dog for a moment, and we want owners to feel confident their pet is safe and cool.
“It’s a feature designed to offer peace of mind by combining smart technology with real-life empathy to keep pets comfortable and reassure the public that everything’s under control.
” It’s another demonstration of Leapmotor delivering the best value to customers, offering electric vehicles with top-level tech and spec as standard.
Unlike some features from other manufacturers which sit behind paywalls or are only available on top-spec models, Guard Mode is part of Leapmotor’s mission to make practical, safety-led tech more accessible.
As the UK faces another late-summer heatwave, Guard Mode offers UK drivers a practical and affordable tool to help protect their pets in those real-world, everyday moments.
The Leapmotor C10 is available to order across the UK now.
