EV2 ‘First Edition’ continues to receive the Electric Car Grant
Alongside the EV2 Long Range variants, the EV2 ‘First Edition’ continues to qualify for the Government Electric Car Grant, receiving a £1,500 reduction in its on-the-road price.

Introduced as a highly specified launch edition of Kia's newest compact electric SUV, the EV2 ‘First Edition’ remains available from £26,995 on-the-road with the grant applies.

Which Kia models qualify for the Electric Car Grant?
With this latest news, Kia continues to offer a broad range of electric vehicles eligible for the Government Electric Car Grant, helping more retail and fleet customers make the switch to electric mobility. Kia is currently one of only seven brands to offer fully electric cars with the maximum ECG, highlighting the brand’s strong environmental manufacturing credentials necessary to qualify for the grant.

The Kia EV2, EV3, EV4 and PV5 Passenger are all available with the ECG discount, with selected grades qualifying for either the maximum Band 1 £3,750 or Band 2 £1,500 grant.

Each of these models is available to order now at Kia dealerships across the UK, and PBV Centres for the PV5 Passenger.

The Electric Car Grant
The UK Government's Electric Car Grant is exclusively available to electric cars adhering to strict minimum criteria covering emissions, range, sustainability and warranty support.

The ECG criteria requires a manufacturer to have SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) verification, which sets greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets in line with what is needed to keep global heating below damaging levels and reach net-zero by 2050 at the latest.

A sustainable journey
Kia will have introduced 15 EV models and 10 HEV models by 2030, while Kia is also committed to manufacturing sites being powered by 100% renewable energy by 2040. The company is pursuing multiple global initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality across the entire product lifecycle by 2045, including achieving RE100, conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for all vehicle models, and strengthening its electrification strategy.

Ends

Notes for editors
Kia’s EV2 Reservation Saving retail customer offer is now withdrawn with immediate effect following all grades of EV2 becoming eligible for the Government Electric Car Grant.
