The new Kia EV2 is shaped for everyday driving in Britain today – tight parking bays, narrow roads, busy towns – and puts upper‑segment tech into a genuinely compact footprint. As Kia’s most accessible EV to-date, it combines confident design with impressive range and a suite of technologies to make day‑to‑day driving easier for UK motorists.

Top five reasons the EV2 fits UK buyers perfectly

  1. Remote Smart Parking Assist: stress‑free parking, even from the pavement

Half of UK drivers say they want their car to park itself or via remote control. With the EV2, that’s exactly what they get. Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) lets you inch the car in or out of a tight space, even while standing outside with the smart key – a feature unique in the small car segment. It’s designed for Britain’s narrow bays and crowded car parks, helping you avoid dings, scrapes and awkward exits.

Kia UK conducted a study which suggests one‑third of drivers feel anxious about parking and 64% think spaces aren’t wide enough. RSPA directly tackles those pain points.

Kia’s Parking Index underscores the challenge: Southampton ranks worst for finding a space; Aberdeen is best. 18% of drivers say parking woes have made them late for important events, and one in ten admit to hitting something while parking. For UK drivers juggling tight bays, busy schedules, and rising repair costs from scrapes, EV2’s remote parking and full suite of aids are timely solutions.

  1. Compact dimensions that suit British roads

At 4,060mm long, with an SUV‑like stance, the Kia EV2 is a compact car that is easy to position on narrow streets and in multi‑storey car parks, without sacrificing street presence. Its upright body and modern styling, plus alloy wheel options ranging from 16 to 19 inches, deliver the confident look of a larger car, despite being the perfect size for UK parking spaces.

  1. Big‑car space and maximum versatility

Uncommonly spacious for a small car, the EV2’s split-folding rear bench maximises rear legroom, while creating up to 362 litres of boot space, plus a 15‑litre ‘frunk’ under the bonnet. The EV2 is handy for family life and the school run, with plenty of space for sports kit, a weekly shop or a weekend away. It’s compact on the outside but generous where it counts for UK families.

  1. Real‑world range and charging flexibility

The EV2 offers buyers a choice of 42.2kWh or 61.0kWh battery packs, taking around 30 minutes to charge from 10-to-80% on a DC fast charger. Crucially for the UK, the EV2 is Kia’s first car to offer both 11 kW and 22 kW AC charging from launch, matching how many drivers actually recharge – at home, at work, or on destination chargers.

Furthermore, it offers class-leading range of up to around 281 miles on a single charge (WLTP pending). In the EV2, drivers can go further between charges than in any other similarly sized and priced compact EV.

  1. Advanced safety and a calmer commute

Beyond RSPA, the EV2 brings Highway Driving Assist 2, Front Collision Avoidance Assist 2.0, Smart Cruise Control 2, Blind‑spot View Monitor, Surround View Monitor, and more. For a small car, that’s a big equipment list, reducing hassle on UK motorways and in urban traffic alike. Inside, rich materials and a wraparound dash host Kia’s latest triple‑screen infotainment system, with OTA updates and Kia Upgrades to keep features current throughout ownership.

Why the EV2 matters now
Designed, developed and manufactured in Europe, the EV2 is a compact EV tuned to Britain’s real world: easy to park, efficient to run, practical for family life – and now, confident in the trickiest and often most stressful parts of driving.
