Spa-Francorchamps, 8 May 2026 - The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will see the number 50 499P start from the fourth row thanks to the time set by Antonio Fuoco in the Hyperpole. In the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship 2026, the number 83 and 51 Ferraris, entrusted respectively to Robert Kubica and Antonio Giovinazzi in qualifying, will also start from 13th and 15th positions. The race on the historic circuit in the Ardennes Forest will get underway on Saturday, 9 May at 2 p.m. (local time).
Qualifying. In the first timed session, contested in dry track conditions with air and asphalt temperatures of around 14 and 22°C respectively, Fuoco set the best time for the Maranello manufacturer, completing a lap in 2’01”181, good enough for fourth position, +0.373 behind the leaders: the Italian driver therefore secured access to the Hyperpole.
The session, characterised by very small gaps between the competitors, ended with the number 83 499P of AF Corse team in 13th position, with a benchmark time of 2’01”777 (+0.969) recorded by the Polish driver. Fifteenth was the other car of the official Ferrari – AF Corse team with Giovinazzi unable to do better than a time of 2’01”848 (+1.040).
Hyperpole. In the decisive 12 minutes reserved for the ten fastest crews Antonio Fuoco, who shares the number 50 car with Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, stopped the clocks at 2’01”117 to secure eighth place on the starting grid, with a gap of +0.464 from pole position. Seventh row for the trio formed by Ferrari official drivers Yifei Ye and Phil Hanson, together with Kubica, and eighth for the trio made up of Giovinazzi, Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado.
Antonio Fuoco, 499P #50: "It was not an easy qualifying session, however we did the maximum and I am satisfied both with the lap I completed in the first timed session this afternoon and the subsequent one in Hyperpole. At Spa races are often unpredictable, so we will have to do our best to seize the opportunities that present themselves during the six hours."
Antonio Giovinazzi, 499P #51: “We had some difficulties in the free practice sessions which did not allow us to find the ideal balance today in qualifying. It was a complex Friday: now we are focusing on the race aware that we will have to be perfect to aim for a good result.”
