Maranello, 30 April 2026 - An iconic circuit measuring 7.004 kilometres and featuring 20 bends, characterised by notable changes in gradient, inaugurated in 1921 and considered the ‘University of racing’ in Europe: the name Spa-Francorchamps fully belongs to the history of motorsport and endurance racing. At the Belgian circuit, Ferrari took its first win in the 24 Hours – now reserved for GT cars – in 1949, with the 166 MM of Luigi Chinetti and Jean Lucas. In recent years, however, in the FIA WEC, the Prancing Horse manufacturer has scored a total of four podiums, one pole position and one win at Spa since the 499P’s racing debut, the latter in 2025.
Among Ferrari’s unforgettable wins is the 1953 Coupe de Spa victory over 1000 kilometres, achieved by Olivier Gendebien with the Ferrari 166 MM. The Belgian driver would go on to enrich his extraordinary career with four wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Prancing Horse. Equally historic was the win at the 1000 Kilometres of Spa by Brian Redman and Arturo Merzario in the 312 PB during the 1972 World Championship for Makes. The race is also remembered for the starting grid, which saw three Ferrari 312 PB cars at the front with Jacky Ickx and Clay Regazzoni, Redman and Merzario, and Tim Schenken and Ronnie Peterson.
In 2025, 98,874 spectators travelled to Spa for the third round of the championship, where Ferrari extended its streak of consecutive wins with the second victory of the season for the 499P number 51 of Pier Guidi-Calado-Giovinazzi, ahead of the other car of the official Ferrari – AF Corse team, shared by Fuoco-Molina-Nielsen. Fifteenth was the number 83 of AF Corse after starting from the second slot on the grid. The Belgian weekend was also enhanced by an excellent qualifying result, with the Ferraris occupying the top three positions and the number 50 starting from pole position.
