Ferrari at Imola: the 2025 race in the drivers’ own words
In front of a remarkable crowd of over 65,000 spectators, the 6 Hours of Imola 2025 ended with Ferrari’s second win of the season, claimed by Pier Guidi, Calado and Giovinazzi, with the latter also taking pole position. “Racing in front of the ‘red wave’ of our Tifosi was something truly special. Their support is extraordinary,” recalls Calado.
For the number 50 499P crew of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, the Italian round was less fortunate, with the trio finishing 15th. Yifei Ye, Phil Hanson and Robert Kubica in the number 83 AF Corse Ferrari were just off the podium in fourth place.
“Imola was a tough one. We knew that starting from such a low position on the grid (18th Ed.) we would have to make up a lot of ground and fight for a strong result in the final stages,” explains Nicklas Nielsen. “In those situations, you have to take more risks than you would ideally like. In the end, despite finishing 15th, we could see that the 499P was quick and well suited to Imola – as had already been clear since our debut here in 2024.”
Beyond the result and the spectacle in the grandstands, the second round of the championship remains etched in the memory of Tifosi and drivers alike for other reasons. As Pier Guidi explains: “The 6 Hours of Imola in 2025 was a chance to put things right for us. The year before, we had everything we needed to win – and to finish with two or three Ferraris at the front – but we made a mistake (in reading the weather, Ed.)”
The reigning World Champion and four-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans continues: “After that, the team worked with even greater determination and tenacity to avoid repeating the same mistake – and so it proved. So to come back to Imola, take pole position and then win in front of the Italian Tifosi was something truly special. It won’t be easy to do it again this year, but we’ll give it everything we’ve got.”
