Between engines and nature: Ferrari Challenge drivers discover Mugello’s green heart
Mugello, 25 April 2026 - During the second round of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe 2026, the Mugello circuit offered the protagonists of the series a unique perspective on the concept of excellence, combining a passion for motorsport with a project of strong environmental value.
Accompanied by Paolo Poli, CEO and Managing Director of Mugello Circuit, drivers Sergio Paulet (Ineco – Reparto Corse RAM), Giacomo Rinaldo (Rossocorsa) and Max Mugelli (CDP - Eureka Competition), together with Andrea Mladosic, Head of Endurance and Corso Pilota, visited the hives located within the San Donato corner, one of the most iconic points of the Tuscan track.
Today, the project includes 7 beehives and approximately 420,000 bees, marking an important evolution from the initiative launched in 2024, when Mugello became the first circuit to host hives for pollinating bees, sending a clear and tangible message about the protection of biodiversity. A symbolic gesture, but also a deeply strategic one: bees are responsible for an essential part of plant pollination and represent a key element in maintaining natural balance.
During the visit, a particularly fascinating aspect emerged: despite their proximity to the circuit and the constant roar of engines, the bees are not disturbed by the noise. Their perception is in fact primarily linked to vibrations, allowing them to coexist in harmony with an environment of high sound intensity.
Set within a context that boasts 900,000 square metres of green areas and 300,000 square metres of woodland, the beehive project forms part of the circuit’s wider environmental vision, already internationally recognised for its sustainability standards. It stands as a tangible example of how innovation, local heritage and respect for nature can share the same trajectory towards the future.
