  • Dacia Bigster has been named ‘Best Value Car’ at the 2025/26 New Car World Championships
  • The award follows last year’s ‘Best Bargain Car’ title for the all-electric Dacia Spring, marking back-to-back honours for Dacia
  • Judged by an international panel of automotive experts including Mike Rutherford, Dr Andy Palmer, Ray Massey, and Shiro Nakamura
  • Bigster has quickly impressed drivers with its combination of space, style and exceptional value, priced from £25,215 on-the-road

It’s official, Dacia is the undisputed value champion. After the all-electric Spring scooped ‘Best Bargain Car’ last year, the Bigster has now been named ‘Best Value Car’ at the 2025/26 New Car World Championships, reinforcing what savvy customers already know: Dacia gives you more for less.

The global awards, organised by the independent, not-for-profit Best Cars of the Year initiative, recognise outstanding vehicles from around the world, as judged by an international panel of automotive leaders, designers and journalists.

This year’s judges praised the Bigster for its unbeatable blend of practicality, capability and affordability, all while delivering the rugged style and robust performance that define the Dacia brand.

Mike Rutherford, Founder of Best Cars of the Year, said: “Bigster is by no means the cheapest new car in the showrooms. But its no-nonsense, value for money traits are unquestionable and, in our view, unbeatable. It sits in the same price league as many small, instantly forgettable hatchbacks. Yet it's a large, honest, well-equipped, comfortable SUV capable of doing a superb all-round job - whether it's serving as a spacious family car, load-lugging workhorse vehicle or a mini motorhome.”

He added: "When undergoing New Car World Championships test drives across European countries earlier this year, the hybrid version achieved in excess of 50 MPG, which is remarkable for an SUV of this size. Bigster is a usable, durable, affordable SUV for real-world drivers and their passengers. And it confirms that Dacia is now as good at - or better than - most of its obvious and not so obvious rivals when it comes to designing and building credible, quality, durable motor cars."

Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, said: “Bigster embodies exactly what Dacia stands for – smart, honest value without compromise. It gives customers a genuinely capable SUV with the space, comfort and quality they need, at a price that still makes sense. To see those qualities recognised on an international stage is a great endorsement of the approach we’ve always taken.”

Starting from £25,215 on-the-road, the Bigster broadens what drivers can expect from an affordable SUV. Offered in three trim levels – Expression, Journey and Extreme – and with a choice of mild-hybrid, hybrid and 4x4 powertrains, it blends rugged styling with impressive equipment and versatility. Every version delivers the practicality, quality and toughness that have become hallmarks of the Dacia brand.

Highlights across the range include keyless entry, a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, alloy wheels, a multiview parking camera, and adaptive cruise control with speed limiter. Practical touches such as Dacia’s YouClip® system and easy-fold rear seats make everyday life simpler, while the Extreme trim brings an extra dose of adventure with modular roof bars and washable MicroCloud TEP upholstery – ideal for those who live life outdoors.
