LONDON – The Citroën New C5 Aircross has been named ‘Family Car of the Year’ by The Sun and The Times at its annual News UK Motor Awards 2026.

Winners are selected by an expert judging panel of leading automotive journalists from News UK titles, including The Sun, The Times, The Sunday Times Magazine, and LUXX Magazine. The New C5 Aircross was recognised for its comfort, practicality and family-friendly design, alongside a choice of hybrid, plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains.

The New C5 Aircross showcases Citroën Advanced Comfort®, combining Advanced Comfort® Seats with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions® suspension to help isolate occupants from the road surface and deliver a smooth, relaxing driving experience. Together with generous interior space and a practical cabin designed around everyday family life, the New C5 Aircross continues Citroën's longstanding focus on making journeys more comfortable for everyone on board.

Rob Gill, Motors Editor at The Sun, said:

"Perhaps we should rename this award ‘The Comfy One’. Sofa-like seats. Tick. Pillow-soft suspension. Tick. Plenty of room in the back for tall adults. Tick. New C5 Aircross was clearly designed by a person who leads an actual life."

Greg Taylor, Managing Director, Citroën UK, said:

"We're delighted that the New C5 Aircross has been named ‘Family Car of the Year’.

"For Citroën, comfort is about much more than ride quality. It's about creating a car that makes everyday life easier for families, whether that's taking the stress out of the school run, providing plenty of space for passengers and luggage, or offering powertrains that suit different lifestyles. The New C5 Aircross embodies that approach, so it's fantastic to see it recognised with this award."

C5 Aircross is available with an efficient petrol hybrid, plug in Hybrid or Electric powertrains. Plug In Hybrid variants are capable of 50 miles (WLTP) of electric-only driving on a single charge. Electric variants are available in Comfort Range – up to 322 miles (WLTP) on a single charge, or Long Range with up to 423 miles (WLTP) on a single charge. Ë-C5 Aircross Comfort Range variants qualify for the full Electric Car Grant resulting in a £3,750 saving from the MRRP list price.
