2 CV FOURGONNETTE CONCEPT: CITROËN REVIVES THE ICONIC SILHOUETTE OF ITS LIGHT COMMERCIAL VEHICLE

- At the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Citroën presents the 2 CV Fourgonnette Concept alongside the 2 CV Concept: a free-spirited, contemporary take on an iconic silhouette that left an indelible mark on the history of compact commercial vehicles.
- This design study - or, more precisely, passion project - was created by Citroën’s designers to reinterpret the spirit of the 2 CV Fourgonnette for today’s needs in an endearing vehicle brimming with character.
Poissy, 12 October 2026 - The 2 CV Fourgonnette served generations of tradespeople, shopkeepers and delivery drivers. With this new concept, Citroën’s designers set out to revive that spirit through a resolutely contemporary vision: an accessible, practical and ingenious electric vehicle with an instantly recognisable and endearing design.
“The 2 CV Fourgonnette was more than just a workhorse. It was part of everyday life. Simple, ingenious and accessible, it above all possessed something few commercial vehicles have: a soul. That is the spirit we are bringing back to life today. Because being useful should never mean being ordinary.” Xavier Chardon – CEO of Citroën and DS Automobiles.
Conceived as the light commercial vehicle version of the 2 CV Concept, the 2 CV Fourgonnette retains its guiding principles: a focus on the essentials, ingenious design and particular attention to ease of use. It therefore brings to the professional world everything that lies at the heart of the new 2 CV: simple, joyful and more human electric mobility.
With this concept, Citroën also reaffirms the close relationship it has maintained with professionals for more than a century - a commitment deeply rooted in its DNA: supporting those who work, run businesses and travel every day by offering vehicles designed to make their lives easier.
Above all, the 2 CV Fourgonnette is a free expression by Citroën’s designers - a passion project. This design study was born from a spontaneous desire to bring back to life a model that defined its era and continues to evoke a unique emotional response. While this concept does not preview a future production model in the short term, it opens up new avenues for consideration and demonstrates one thing: the spirit of the 2 CV Fourgonnette remains remarkably relevant and continues to inspire.
With the 2 CV Fourgonnette, Citroën isn’t content merely to look in the rear-view mirror to revive the past: it is reinventing an idea that has lost none of its relevance. A more accessible, lighter and more essential electric light commercial vehicle that puts freedom and pleasure back at the heart of mobility. A new 2CV, faithful to the spirit of the original but resolutely focused on the uses and challenges of tomorrow. An icon cannot be copied, it must be reinvented.
